When Nehemiah heard of the plight of Gods people, he wept and
spent much time in prayer, fasting and repentance (Nehemiah:
Chapter one). I recently received an e-mail from West Africa
that had the same effect on me. I don’t normally use this web
site to appeal on behalf of Zerubbabel Ministries or any other ministries, but the plight of
this man of God and his people can not go ignored! Part of this
e-mail is reproduced below.
These unfortunate people are clearly in
dire circumstances.
If, like
me, you are moved to tears by this cry
for help from a pastor on behalf of his flock, please join this
ministry in prayer and fasting. If you feel led to contribute
practical assistance, in whatever form, please let me know and I
will advise how you can help.
Zerubbabel
Ministries are planning a missions trip to Africa, later this
year. One of the places we plan to visit is this refugee camp,
in order to provide whatever help and assistance we possibly
can.
If you would like to be
a
part of this missions trip by contributing
in some way please contact:

'By way of introduction, I am Pastor Rutherford Sankawulo,
A Liberian Refugee and I live on the Liberian Refugee camp, in
Accra,
Ghana, West Africa a camp of Forty Five Thousand (45,000)
Refugees. This is because of the civil war in the country, but
by the grace of God Almighty, things are turning in our
interest, to God be the glory.
We, as a nation have suffered from a lot of setbacks during
the fourteen years of civil conflict. In addition, the increase
in premature death of Babies and mothers for the lack of food
and proper care have resulted in many things that cannot be
expressed by human words. Food on this divide is like diamonds,
no clothes, no drinking water for the refugees, and in addition
and most importantly, the lack of the word of God which has led
to the deadness of the entire Christian community. We have a
Ministerial Network of 200 Pastors and church workers, with
about 120 churches.
We believe that when God sees
humanity, He sees our spiritual needs first before our physical,
even though we are hungry here, we need the word of God
seriously'.

"Let no one be discouraged by
the belief there is nothing one person can do against the
enormous array of the world's ills; misery, ignorance and
violence. Few will have the greatness to bend history, but
each of us can work to change a small portion of events. And
in the total of all those acts will be written the history
of a generation."
